Product Review: Sunless Tanning Lotion - Sun Laboratories

Every summer I find myself on the hunt for something to give me some color without having to spend endless hours at the beach. While I LOVE going to the beach, I find that I never really get there. Between work and busy weekends I might see the ocean a couple of times throughout the whole summer! But that doesn't mean I don't want a nice glow making it look like I live at the beach...but I just need to find it other ways.

Tanning beds are awesome, but so bad for you, and definitely not an option when pregnant, and I do get the occasional spray tan (which I LOVE by the way!) but getting to the Spa that does them doesn't always fit in my schedule either. Then one day while my mother was getting her spray tan, she asked the girl doing it if she using the spray tan stuff on herself, ironically she said no, but said she used a product sold at Ulta called Sun.

My mother being an avid tanner herself told me about it and my google research began! The reviews on this stuff were pretty good so we decided to give it a try. And boy, were we satisfied!! This stuff works amazing!

It gives a very brown/bronzed look instead of the typical orange you get from a bottle tanner. The lotion is actually a dark brown itself so when putting it on, it's kind of scary, but it works out better than a clear/white lotion because you can actually SEE where you're putting it. It helps get a more even tan which is a major perk.

And the best part about this stuff IT DOES NOT SMELL BAD! It's not a strong smell, and it's not an awful smell. You might have a very faint hint of tanning smell after having it on for a little while, but really I could barely smell it.

Also, because the lotion itself is a dark brown, you get instant color when you put it on too. Don't be afraid of the Medium or Dark either...I am very fair and used the darker ones and it wasn't too dark. Just do one even coat and it will be the perfect amount of color.

It's the same protocol with this stuff as other sunless tanners, put on at night and take a shower in the morning. Keep your skin moisturized to make it last longer, and keep re-applying every couple of days to maintain the color because after a couple of good showers the color is gone.

***Make sure you use a plastic glove or a tanning glove of some sort when putting this stuff on. It will DEFINITELY stain your palms and that is never a good look.

The product ranges in price depending on where you get. I have found it as cheap at $15 and as much $36 depending on the website. So browse around some places for the best price.

*This is a product review based on my own opinion on a product I personally purchased, this is not an endorsement for Sun, just a happy customer sharing a product that works!
